Jaleesa !Gaoses better known by her professional name Taylor Jaye, is an award-winning Namibian-born SA based singer, songwriter, and actress - and launched her music career in 2015 both in Namibia and SA, under her own label Jaye’s World Entertainment (Pty) Ltd.
She then went on to launch her debut EP called 780 (tribute to her late grandma Agnes Suko !Gaoses), featuring her hit single "Supa Chikita", which was in high demand on many radio stations in Namibian, SA and across Africa. The single was also nominated for Music Video of the year at the 2017 Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAS) it made the Top 10 Song list on Reverbnation and it also won the Best Honorary Single Award for the Unsigned Reverbnation Competition 2016. During November 2016, the Supa Chikita music video was released at a celebrity packed media launch with a stellar response. This success was followed in early 2017 by her next single "Ma /Hao" featuring Big Star Johnson (Vusu Hustle Season 1 Winner) and the cinematic music video was released. Both these music videos was in high rotation and has made the Top Ten charts on both Trace Africa, MTVBase and Channel O.
Taylor Jaye has performed at numerous corporate, social and special events both in Namibia and SA - most recently alongside the likes of Davido and Runtown in Zimbabwe and Namibia and at events such as NAMAS Nomination Show, Musa Group Africa Functions, One Economy Foundation Launch (First Day of Namibia), Hip Hop Festival (SA) Annual House Festival (Namibia and SA) and many more. In addition, she has made numerous appearances on Radio and TV as well as performances in Namibia, SA and Nigeria on popular shows such as: E-TV Sunrise, Beat FM, Massive FM, SABC1, Watagwan, PowerFM, etc. She has also been featured in multiple newspapers and online articles in SA, Namibia, Zambia and West Africa. In addition, she is an actress and TV personality - and was casted as lead character on the Pan African series “Closets” on DStV Ebony Life, in a pilot series “Things we do for Love” and was a semi-permanent co-host on the Planet ENT Live Pan-African show on DSTV Africa in 2017.
As an entertainment entrepreneur, Taylor Jaye under her entertainment company Jaye’s World Entertainment recently partnered with the J&B Hive in Johannesburg to expand her business. And now she has also become one of the brand ambassadors for Guinness Nigeria which is soon to be officially launched in the SA market during 2018.
Influenced by various genres including R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Classical and Jazz. Taylor Jaye has been working on the first full album which will officially be released soon across Africa.. She released the NAMAS Award-nominated smash single “!Kho te re” featuring groundbreaking producers Uhuru & Dj Clap from Kalawa Jazmee in 2017 and just dropped the music video in early 2018. This was followed by the smashing release of her lastest single ‘Satsa’ with an electrifyIng music video. Both these singles and videos are in high rotation on all radios (Namibia and SA) and on Trace Africa. MTVBase and Channel O. plans to follow this single up with more groundbreaking videos and singles from her album during the rest of 2018.
Taylor Jaye started the first half of 2018 with a bang as she has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Best house category at the NAMA. She plans to continue dropping groundbreaking videos and singles throughout the year and do a tour in Namibia, Nigeria, and SA.
